An introduction to crystals

In today's modern society, we have re-discovered the magic of crystals.Many people today have jewelry made from crystals and have them placed around their home.This is not however a new trend, man's fascination with crystals stretches back to the stone age.Virtually every culture and religion has used stones symbolically,decoratively or practically. The beauty and rarity of precious stones makes them very valuable along with the feelings they inspire.
Many of the crystals also have a variety of practical uses which we can incorporate into our daily lives.Crystals are very effective when used to gather and channel the magical energies that exsist not only all around us , but within us too. Like the ancient mystics before us, we can learn to use crystals for protection, luck and healing. How do crystals work??
Each crystal has its own magical abilities and attributes, but all work in the following way.:
Vibrational balance:
the magic of each cyrstal is in their colour, this is determined by the rate at which its atoms vibrate.These vibrations can be matched to the energy which is given off by the bodies Aura.
Channel energy:
In the same way that light can be focused and refracted throughout the crystals, so too are all kinds of psychic energy, from healing energies to divine communications.
How do we use crystals??
Using crystals in spells and rituals:
We can use crystals when doing spells, combine them with other magical objects that have complimentary associations.
we can use crystals to channel the energies our spells manipulate. We can annoint them with oils to boost their healing and protective qualities. One of the most widely used methods of using crystals in magic is foretelling the future by gazing into a crystal ball. They have been used as lucky charms for tens of thousands of years, there is even mention of them in the bible.
We can also use crystals for jewelry and ornamental purposes. The Celts believed that Agate for instance, helped a person to find courage when facing conflict and gave them energy to take action. By wearing crystals in jewelry you can keep their healing vibrations close to your body.
The third main use for crystals that we will be covering is healing.Crystals can be used in a variety of ways to aid in healing.They influence the energy vibrations of a persons Aura balancing the energy to, from and through your body. You can make a crystal remedy, You can use a crystal wand or polished stone to channel energy into your body. One of the most popular ways in which to use crystals for healing is to stimulate Chakra's.
What are Chakra's??
Chakra's are the energy centers through which life energy flows. The ancient Indian mystics named this energy "Prana" which means life force.They identified seven Major Chakra's or "wheels" connected points along our central nervous system , organs and glands. At these points the energy collects before moving on. From the top to bottom the chakra's are: Crown at the top of the head, Brow at the forehead, Throat at the throat, Heart at the heart, Stomach at the stomach and Sacral and base chakra's at the base of the spine.
Now we will look at he associations of the Chakra's
Crown:
colour-white, Scent - lavender and frankincense, stone-clear,musical note-B, element-spirit, sense-Esp.
Brow:
colour-purple, scent-juniper and rosemary, stone-purple, musical note-A , element -electrical,sense-sight.
Throat:
colour-blue. scent-chamomile and eucalyptus, stone-blue, musical note- G sharp, element-spirit and air,sense-sound.
Heart:
colour-green and pink, scent-rose and ylang ylang, stone -greens and pinks, musical note- F sharp,element-air, sense- smell.
Stomach:
colour-yellow, scent- chamomile,stone-yellow, musical note-e, element-fire,sense-taste.
sacral:
colour-orange, scent-jasmine and sandalwood, colour-orange, musical note- D , element-water, sense-taste.
Base:
colour-red,scent- patchouli and generanium, colour-red and black, musical note- C , element-earth, sense-touch. Crystals as we see have many uses and are more than just a pretty item to look at. |
